How are projects selected and prioritized in JETP?
The process of selecting and prioritizing JETP projects begins with collecting power sector projects from vairous sources in a process that is carried out jointly with MEMR and PLN.
The JETP priority projects are then selected from the long list based on their significance to the realization of the JETP power sector pathway as described in the CIPP, and whether the projects have been committed by the relevant entities, agreed together by the relevant government institutions and has a starting date by 2030, and has not reached financial close by the time the CIPP is drafted. As a result, more than 400 projects has been selected as JETP priority projects.
Of all priority projects, the JETP Secretariat has identified more than 50 top priority projects based on its strategic value to the JETP power sector pathway and Indonesia's energy transition. The list of top priority projects has been received by the Government of Indonesia.
More details regarding the JETP project selection and prioritization process can be found in Chapter 5 of the CIPP.
