Based on Regulation No. 103 Year 2023 and Ministerial Decree No. 275 of 2022 of the Ministry of Finance (MoF), PT SMI, a special mission vehicle, has been mandated as the Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) Country Platform to develop the financing and investment framework for the ETM program in Indonesia (Ministry of Finance, 2022) (Ministry of Finance, 2023).

The ETM Country Platform is a framework developed to provide the financial support needed to accelerate the national energy transition, by mobilising commercial and non-commercial sources of finance in a sustainable manner. 

The ETM financing is considered as part of JETP financing by the IPG countries, therefore financing requiring GoI incentives and facilities, including but not limited to government guarantees and fiscal incentives, may go through the ETM Country Platform.
